Peer Review Policy – International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Innovation (IJMRI)
The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Innovation (IJMRI, ISSN: 2454-7204) follows a double-blind peer review system to ensure fairness, transparency, and high-quality academic publishing. This policy explains how manuscripts are evaluated before acceptance.
1. Purpose of Peer Review
- To maintain academic integrity and research quality.
- To provide authors with constructive feedback for improving their work.
- To help editors make fair and objective publication decisions.
2. Double-Blind Review System
- Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.
- This ensures impartiality and eliminates personal or institutional bias.
3. Peer Review Process
Step 1 – Initial Screening
- Manuscripts are first reviewed by the Editorial Board for compliance with IJMRI’s submission guidelines, plagiarism policy, and scope.
- Non-compliant manuscripts may be rejected before peer review.
Step 2 – Reviewer Assignment
- Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two expert reviewers in the relevant field.
- Reviewers are selected based on subject expertise, academic experience, and past review performance.
Step 3 – Review Evaluation
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:
- Originality and novelty of the research
- Clarity and organization of writing
- Methodological rigor
- Significance of results and conclusions
- Relevance to multidisciplinary research and innovation
- Proper referencing and ethical compliance
Step 4 – Reviewer Feedback
- Reviewers provide detailed comments and recommendations (Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject).
- Constructive suggestions for improvement are shared with authors.
Step 5 – Editorial Decision
- Based on reviewers’ reports, the Editorial Board makes the final decision.
- Decisions may include:
✅ Accept without revision
✅ Accept with minor/major revisions
❌ Reject (unsuitable or below standards)
Step 6 – Revision & Resubmission
- Authors are required to address reviewer comments and resubmit revised manuscripts.
- Revised manuscripts may undergo further review before final acceptance.
4. Reviewer Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts.
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.
- Declare conflicts of interest before reviewing.
- Report suspected plagiarism, duplication, or ethical misconduct.
5. Editorial Responsibilities
- Ensure a fair and unbiased review process.
- Protect reviewer and author identities.
- Make final publication decisions based on review quality and editorial standards.
- Publish corrections, clarifications, or retractions when necessary.
6. Review Timeline
- Standard review time: 2–4 weeks.
- Authors will be notified promptly in case of delays.
7. Ethical Standards
- IJMRI adheres to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
- All parties (authors, reviewers, editors) are expected to follow research and publishing ethics.
8. Appeals & Complaints
- Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a written justification.
- The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board will review appeals independently.
- Complaints regarding reviewer bias, delays, or ethical issues will be investigated seriously.
