At IJMRI (ISSN: 2454-7204), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethics, transparency, and integrity in academic publishing. These guidelines apply to authors, reviewers, and editors, ensuring fair, unbiased, and responsible scholarly communication.
1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
- Originality & Plagiarism
- Authors must submit original work.
- Plagiarism, duplicate submission, or redundant publication is strictly prohibited.
- All manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening before review.
- Authorship
- Only individuals who have made a significant contribution to the research should be listed as authors.
- The corresponding author is responsible for obtaining approval from all co-authors.
- Data Accuracy & Transparency
- Authors must present accurate data and provide access to raw data upon request.
- Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is considered unethical.
- Conflict of Interest
- Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest.
- Acknowledgment of Sources
- Proper citation of all sources is mandatory.
- Permissions must be obtained for any copyrighted material used.
- Corrections & Retractions
- If an error is discovered after publication, authors must immediately notify the editor.
- IJMRI reserves the right to issue corrections, errata, or retractions.
2. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Confidentiality
- Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents.
- Manuscripts cannot be shared or discussed with others.
- Objectivity & Fairness
- Reviews should be constructive, unbiased, and evidence-based.
- Criticism should focus on content, not personal attributes of authors.
- Conflict of Interest
- Reviewers must decline review if a conflict of interest exists.
- They must disclose any competing interests to the editor.
- Timeliness
- Reviews should be completed within the agreed timeframe.
- Delays must be communicated promptly to the editor.
- Ethical Oversight
- Reviewers should report plagiarism, data manipulation, or ethical concerns.
3. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
- Editorial Independence
- Decisions are based solely on academic merit, originality, and relevance.
- No discrimination based on gender, race, religion, or affiliation.
- Confidentiality
- Editors must protect author and reviewer anonymity (double-blind review).
- Conflict of Interest
- Editors must recuse themselves if conflicts exist.
- They must not use unpublished materials for personal research.
- Publication Decisions
- Editors ensure that only ethically sound, high-quality research is published.
- Decisions follow peer-review feedback and editorial policies.
- Handling Misconduct
- Allegations of plagiarism, falsification, or unethical research are investigated.
- IJMRI follows COPE flowcharts for misconduct resolution.
4. Research Ethics & Compliance
- Authors must follow international research standards including:
- Informed consent for human subjects.
- Animal welfare considerations in research involving animals.
- Compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
