Plagiarism & Copyright Policy – IJMRI
The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Innovation (IJMRI, ISSN: 2454-7204) is committed to publishing original, high-quality research. To maintain academic integrity, all submissions are subject to strict plagiarism checks and copyright agreements.
1. Plagiarism Policy
- Zero Tolerance
IJMRI follows a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and duplicate publication. - Screening Tools
All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin / iThenticate / Similarity Check or equivalent software before peer review. - Similarity Index
- Acceptable similarity level: ≤10–15% (excluding references & common phrases).
- Submissions with >15% similarity are either rejected or sent back for revision.
- Forms of Plagiarism
- Copying text, figures, or tables without citation.
- Self-plagiarism (reusing one’s own published content without acknowledgment).
- Paraphrasing without proper attribution.
- Submitting the same work to multiple journals simultaneously.
- Consequences
- Rejection at screening stage.
- Blacklisting of authors in repeated cases.
- Retraction of published articles if plagiarism is discovered post-publication.
2. Copyright Policy
- Copyright Transfer
- Upon acceptance, authors must sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA).
- Authors retain the right to use their work for teaching, institutional repositories, and future research with due citation.
- Publisher Rights
- IJMRI holds the rights for distribution, indexing, and archiving of published work.
- No part of the publication may be reproduced commercially without IJMRI’s permission.
- Open Access License
- Articles are published under an open-access model, ensuring global visibility.
- Authors grant IJMRI the right to make the work available online permanently.
3. Fair Use & Permissions
- Authors must obtain written permission for:
- Reproduction of figures, tables, or data from other sources.
- Use of copyrighted images, questionnaires, or software.
- Proper attribution is mandatory for all third-party content.
4. Duplicate & Redundant Publication
- Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals is prohibited.
- Republishing previously published work without disclosure is considered academic misconduct.
5. Retraction & Corrections
- IJMRI reserves the right to retract, correct, or remove articles in cases of:
- Proven plagiarism.
- Data fabrication or falsification.
- Ethical misconduct.
- Retractions will be clearly indicated with reasons.
6. Author Declaration
All submitting authors must confirm that:
- The manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere.
- Proper citations and acknowledgments have been provided.
- All necessary permissions for copyrighted content have been obtained.
