Peer Review Policy

Peer Review Policy – International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Innovation (IJMRI)

The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Innovation (IJMRI, ISSN: 2454-7204) follows a double-blind peer review system to ensure fairness, transparency, and high-quality academic publishing. This policy explains how manuscripts are evaluated before acceptance.

1. Purpose of Peer Review

  • To maintain academic integrity and research quality.
  • To provide authors with constructive feedback for improving their work.
  • To help editors make fair and objective publication decisions.

2. Double-Blind Review System

  • Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.
  • This ensures impartiality and eliminates personal or institutional bias.

3. Peer Review Process

Step 1 – Initial Screening

  • Manuscripts are first reviewed by the Editorial Board for compliance with IJMRI’s submission guidelines, plagiarism policy, and scope.
  • Non-compliant manuscripts may be rejected before peer review.

Step 2 – Reviewer Assignment

  • Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two expert reviewers in the relevant field.
  • Reviewers are selected based on subject expertise, academic experience, and past review performance.

Step 3 – Review Evaluation

Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and novelty of the research
  • Clarity and organization of writing
  • Methodological rigor
  • Significance of results and conclusions
  • Relevance to multidisciplinary research and innovation
  • Proper referencing and ethical compliance

Step 4 – Reviewer Feedback

  • Reviewers provide detailed comments and recommendations (Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject).
  • Constructive suggestions for improvement are shared with authors.

Step 5 – Editorial Decision

  • Based on reviewers’ reports, the Editorial Board makes the final decision.
  • Decisions may include:
    ✅ Accept without revision
    ✅ Accept with minor/major revisions
❌ Reject (unsuitable or below standards)

Step 6 – Revision & Resubmission

  • Authors are required to address reviewer comments and resubmit revised manuscripts.
  • Revised manuscripts may undergo further review before final acceptance.

4. Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts.
  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.
  • Declare conflicts of interest before reviewing.
  • Report suspected plagiarism, duplication, or ethical misconduct.

5. Editorial Responsibilities

  • Ensure a fair and unbiased review process.
  • Protect reviewer and author identities.
  • Make final publication decisions based on review quality and editorial standards.
  • Publish corrections, clarifications, or retractions when necessary.

6. Review Timeline

  • Standard review time: 2–4 weeks.
  • Authors will be notified promptly in case of delays.

7. Ethical Standards

  • IJMRI adheres to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
  • All parties (authors, reviewers, editors) are expected to follow research and publishing ethics.

8. Appeals & Complaints

  • Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a written justification.
  • The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board will review appeals independently.
  • Complaints regarding reviewer bias, delays, or ethical issues will be investigated seriously.
